| | Week of 08/16/2018 - Featured Blog Post Seven Years of Walking On July 24th, 2011, I changed my life when I started walking. In the beginning, I could barely walk 1/3 of a mile, yet every day I would walk. My pain levels and asthma were my biggest enemies and they still are, but seven years later, I have done what I never in a million years would have believed. As of July 24, 2018, I have walked 9909.82 miles. That's 100 miles short of 10,000 miles. Somewhere along the way I read that the distance around the Earth is 24,901.45 miles. I set that as a goal, never once believing I would even accomplish 5,000 miles. Yet here I am at 9900.82 miles. I like tracking my steps and miles and I have notebooks with my daily stats. Challenging myself to what I thought was an insane goal has been amazing. I now listen to my body more about my walking and such. I have a list of health issues that are painful. My moods are lifted due to exercise and those crazy endorphins. I feel great when I'm out in nature. I work through my pain. I never thought I would be able to, and there are days that I fail miserably. I just want to live my life to the fullest I can. You're never too young or too old to change your life. You have it inside you to change your life. It's not easy. The road is full of twists and turns but you can succeed. Join me in this adventure with your favorite activities.
