Hi Everyone
Today I have a real treat for you if you haven't seen this video! My uncle sent me an "interview" of Paul McCartney from The Beatles that might be the best interview I've ever seen. They drive around McCartney's hometown of Liverpool while telling stories, singing Beatles songs, and visiting historic spots along his journey. I love storytelling as a motivational way to share points and this really brings his story alive.
This is a longer video at 23 minutes, but believe me, if you are a fan of The Beatles or music history in general, this is a real treat that is more emotional than you might think (it's hard to not tear up in some spots). In fact, even if you aren't a fan of The Beatles, you might become one after watching this video.
The video was posted to YouTube only 10 days ago and already has over 23 million views and more than 47,000 comments because it really strikes a chord with people. I even noticed many positive comments from young people learning this story for the first time.
I'm trying to balance not giving too much away with persuading you to go watch this because it's probably worth 23 minutes of your time :). I watched it once with my son, but will watch again with my wife because it's THAT GOOD. Give even the first minute a chance and you'll probably be hooked. Ha, I just convinced my wife to watch the first minute and she couldn't stop watching until the end.
The video is on this blog.
As I watched this with my son, I told him this is why I like helping people reach their goals especially him and his brother. I said, "at the end of the day, he's just a person like everyone else. He just happened to develop an incredible talent and acted upon it in ways that led to so many extraordinary experiences. You may not have the same experiences, but you can have your own amazing experiences if you keep reaching your goals."
I also talk often about the value of bringing together a small group of people to work as a team. This is surely the case with John, Paul, George, Ringo, and their team.
Seeing his story brought alive this way even motivates me to savor every moment of life and try my best to create positive moments in all areas of life.
As a plug for the new feature we're working on now that will launch in August, I can't wait to see how many goals this helps people reach!
Let me know what you think if you have a chance to watch the video. What is your favorite part of the story?
One more thing: this reminded me of a two-part article I wrote about the friendly competition between The Beatles and The Beach Boys that made them both better (with all of us benefiting from this friendly competition):
Part 1.
Part 2.
