| | Week of 03/15/2018 - Featured Blog Post Be the Change You Want to See in the World Today I awoke and thought about the state of affairs and I said I wish there were more peace in the world. I wish that hatred did not exist and that we were not so divided as a nation. But wishing won't make it go away. I think this is like everything else... we are all such experts on what should be done, on what could be done, but then many times we sit back and do nothing but complain about what isn't working instead of focusing on what is or making an honest effort to change what isn't. While we do not have the power to change the world completely on our own, we have the ability to take steps in the right directions as well as plant seeds to take root and be nurtured by others along the way. Our weight loss and healthy living however, is completely under our control. And while yes, many times there are outlying factors that impact us and our success at changing ourselves, we have the power if we choose to wield it. I love my country and I love me and I owe it to myself to be the change I want to see in the world as well as in my being! I am going to continue spreading kindness and nurturing peace in the world and within myself. I will work hard to be the best version of me for me and for those to whom I'm an example.
