| | Week of 11/03/2016 - Featured Blog Post Giving Back to SparkPeople I get so much from SparkPeople. I joined because I needed an easy way to record what I ate. Then I find out I can enter my starting weight and tell Spark how much I want to lose and it comes back with a calorie range for success. Wow! Then there's something called SparkPoints. All of a sudden, I'm reading articles, taking trivia tests, and drinking water to earn these points. And I realize that I am back in school, the School of the Rest of my Life. I'm learning more than I have in years. The last few months I have been trying hard to give back. I recently took over a small SparkTeam that was mostly dead and with the help of another member have revived that team. I changed almost everything about it including the name to make it more inclusive. We barely have any members, but I am trying. I also have become more active with the chat board. My feelings are hurt when I make an entry and no one acknowledges my problem or achievement. If I feel hurt, there are lots of newer members who must feel badly also. This is not the place where we should ignore each other. Many of us have fragile egos because of our weight issues and don't understand when the board moves so fast and our entries fall off the first page without a response. I have tried to go back several pages to respond to people who have no responses. Today I would like to challenge you to find a post with no responses and make a stranger feel that you care. Are you with me?
