Hi Everyone
I spent some time today posting in the SparkPeople community. It's always a source of motivation even for me to see our positive members supporting each other. Here's one response I received after sharing my free mini-book with a longtime member just returning to the site.

Don't Ever Give Up
Now that we've entered February, you may have lost sight of your New Year's resolutions set about a month ago.
As basketball coach Jim Valvano said when he was battling cancer, "Don't ever give up." Visit my blog to see a 15-second clip of his famous speech with this line.
You matter and what you do matters. If you consistently take one positive step at a time towards smart goals, you really can transform your life.
Keep investing a small amount of time each day in yourself and this will pay incredible dividends both for you and for those you love.
SparkAmerica/SparkEarth Update
I'm now spending a bunch of my time working with partners and potential partners for SparkAmerica/SparkEarth -- our health & fitness, leadership development, and community support campaign.
One of the most exciting points happening so far is that as partners get involved in this movement, they often want to expand their involvement. Here are some examples:
- A corporate wellness company we're working with in one city is expanding to 7 new cities and we're working on expanding to some of those cities
- One of the salespeople at our major media partner was promoted to another TV station in New York and he wants to help us in that city
- The media partner mentioned above will help us reach out to TV stations in rival cities to create a direct city-to-city challenge
- A major nonprofit wants to get much more involved in the campaign and also reach out to their chapters in other cities
- Another partner is recruiting a new county to come on board as a partner.
If you'd like to help build this movement, the easiest things you can do are:
- Select your favorite affinities. Then all of the SparkPoints you earn will be added to the totals for each affinity you select (city, employer, favorite sports teams, etc.). You can do this on this page
- Use SparkPeople consistently to reach your goals. This will lead to more activity on the leaderboards making it easier for us to recruit even more great partners around the world.
- Share SparkPeople with your family, friends, co-workers. You can tell them about the site, or just email them my mini-book
SparkCheers!
