JOIN TEAM REDBARN PET PRODUCTS TO RUN OR WALK FOR A GOOD CAUSE! | | Join Team Redbarn Pet Products this Saturday at the Inaugural K-9 Yoube 5k run/walk for Project K-9 Hero! The event takes place in Covington, KY but runners nationwide can register to participate virtually. All proceeds and donations from the event will go to Project K-9 Hero. What: Inaugural K-9 Yoube 5k run/walk When: Saturday, April 19 Where: Covington, KY or virtually from anywhere | | K-9 Yoube, a female Dutch Shepherd that worked at the Chattanooga Police Department, specialized in Narcotics Detection. She was Project K-9 Hero's third National Ambassador and 109th Program Member. After nearly four years of faithfully representing the organization, she suddenly lost her ability to walk. In August of 2024, K-9 Yoube was spending time with Project K-9 Hero CEO, Jason Johnson, when her leg went numb. Initially thinking she had overdone it playing in the yard, it quickly turned into something more serious. Within hours, she lost feeling in both legs and was unable to walk. Doctors found a tumor on her spine requiring immediate surgery. Weeks later, Yoube returned home using an assistive sling and a wheel cart. Then, one day, she moved her leg. With daily rehab, Yoube made an incredible recovery—going from immobility in August to walking on her own by October. Sadly, Yoube started to experience more difficulties a month later. A wound that wouldn't heal and a regression in her back legs, but she hadn't given up, and neither did Project K-9 Hero and Jason. They continued to fight along with her until she was struck with pneumonia and tragically passed away on December 13th, 2024. Yoube lived at Project K-9 Hero's Rehabilitation & Rehoming Facility for Police K-9s and Military Working Dogs in Tennessee for over four years. She is very special to their staff, supporters, donors, and the thousands of fans she had globally. This event is dedicated to her. | | Redbarn Pet Products is now the official dog food sponsor for Project K-9 Hero! With our generous support, these incredible dogs will have access to the best nutrition for their health and well-being in retirement. | | No longer want to receive these emails? Unsubscribe.
