What prompted you to start Made by Mary?
Back in 2013, I was a new mom fighting through postpartum depression and really struggling to find my place in the world. After a favorite meaningful necklace broke, instead of buying a new one, I figured I could make one myself. I was really drawn to the idea of creating jewelry that could tell a story. So I took a chance and opened an Etsy shop— and the rest is history. From one woman startup to thriving company- what's that process been like?
Creating and growing Made by Mary has been a WILD ride, you guys. It's been an incredibly fulfilling experience while in the same breath, extremely challenging and humbling. It's easy to get overwhelmed by everything I want to do; but my family, our ultra talented MBM crew, and you (the best community!!) inspire and motivate and anchor me. What are your hopes for MBM's future? I have some big plans for her!! Really tapping into the creative potential of MBM is front of mind for me— creating new products that help you embrace every part of who you are. I'm passionate about doing more to support and advocate for mental health in our community and creating a safe space for deeper connection and conversation.
