| | Week of 12/13/2018 - Featured Blog Post Are You Finding the Best In Yourself? As we approach the end of 2018, for some it may be a last ditch effort to drop extra pounds and swiftly 'round the bases' like a baseball player sliding into home plate! However, may we not become myopic and get tunnel vision, as we continue on our journey for health and happiness that is realistic for ourselves. See the big picture: My objective is to examine the whole picture, not just part. Tunnel vision zeroes in on one thing and does not see the periphery. So maybe you set your sights for losing a certain amount of pounds in a given time, but feel disappointed if you fell short. Seeing the panorama expands your vision and allows you to see what you gained instead of what you did not lose. If you really think about it, you probably accomplished more than you realize. It may not have to do with weight loss, either. If we think of our value or success in terms of our current weight or size, then we are missing the big picture and short-changing ourselves! Maybe you learned some new and valuable things this year or you taught someone else. You may have been the one who brought comfort to one who just lost a loved one. These things speak of your heart and soul. Our size has nothing to do with who we are inside. Keep going with your goals but look inward and beyond to see the beauty you and others possess. You are so much more than first glance!
