| | Week of 02/23/2017 - Featured Blog Post The Ultimate Non-Scale Victory Focusing on NSV's (non-scale victories) has become increasingly important over time. I think it lends a perspective on the overall process and helps take the importance off of the outcome. I had the ultimate NSV that I could hope to achieve. Health. I decided, after procrastinating for a couple of months, to set up an appointment with my GP and go in for a physical/wellness visit. For me, it is easy to put that stuff on the back burner. Well, I did it. My GP looked over my bloodwork and after my appointment I was told that I am the picture of health. This month I am celebrating the 20th anniversary to my 21st birthday (okay, okay, I am going to be 41) and I am so happy and proud to be where I am in my life. I truly feel like I am enjoying the life of balance and moderation. I am slowly (some days it feels so incredibly slow) losing weight, I am exercising in a way that isn't painful or dreadful but something that I genuinely look forward to, I am sleeping well, I don't feel like I am pushing myself too hard in any area, but I am setting goals, working on them, focusing on what is truly important and leaving the rest behind. It feels good to be at this place. I know that the weight loss goals will happen. It just is a good feeling all the way around to not be forcing myself in any one direction too far. I am working daily to embrace the imperfection of what I do and being okay with that, I have banished the entire mindset of being on or off the wagon (that took work and continues to do so). Things just feel great! It truly has become the lifestyle.
