| | Did you know that every product, service, and brand we recommend at Healthline is thoroughly vetted and approved by our Medical Standards and Insights team? Yup! This means that everything meets our high safety, quality, and credibility standards. The team also double confirms that any lofty health claims from the company are actually backed by trustworthy, scientific evidence. | Our editors and writers also road test products — from CBD oils to meal kits to mattresses — to ensure we give you the most accurate hands-on reviews possible. (If you're interested, here's a longer explanation of our vetting process.) | Recently, I tried Quest Health's Basic Health Profile test (where you order bloodwork online and then go in to get the labs done — no referrals needed) for our sister site, Medical News Today. I had *such* a pleasant experience that I want to tell you about it today. Read my personal review below. | Note: This review isn't meant to serve as medical advice, and the service may not be right for you! | | | | Testing 1-2-3, Morgan Mandriota Newsletter Editor, Healthline | | | Written by Morgan Mandriota April 16, 2025 • 3.5 min read | | | | | | |
| | | I tried Quest Health's Basic Health Profile test — here's how it went | Quest Health provided this service for free. But our opinions are ours alone and have not been reviewed, approved, or otherwise endorsed by the service provider. | When my colleague asked if I wanted to test Quest Health's labs, it was an immediate "yes" from me. I haven't had a physical in over a year, so it was definitely time for a full bloodwork panel to get a better picture of my general health and discuss the results with my doctor afterward. | This Basic Health Profile includes a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, cholesterol panel, and urinalysis. Here are some of the many levels measured: | I've never ordered tests online and then gone in for lab work like this. I've only ever seen a doctor first and requested labs from there. When I tell you this process was SO easy, I mean it. | I went to Quest Health's website, added the test I wanted to my cart, checked out, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Here's what happened: | - I showed up at my local patient center the following morning.
- I checked in on my phone by clicking a link I received via text.
- I was called in within a couple of minutes to get my blood drawn.
- After my bloodwork, I peed in a cup, dropped it off back in the room, then left.
| | The whole appointment took about 15 minutes, and it only took that long because I kept chatting with the technician. Then, my test results (with explanations of what everything means) were in my email inbox before I woke up the next day! Nothing needed immediate attention, so I spent some time reading through my results for my own understanding. I'll be scheduling an appointment for my annual physical soon where I plan to discuss everything with my doctor. | If you want to save time, skip a doctor's referral, or you don't have insurance or don't mind paying out of pocket (and you don't have any symptoms that require medical attention), I recommend ordering labs online like this. | While this is a convenient approach, you should still try to have a primary care physician or meet with a doctor regularly instead of relying on testing kits for a comprehensive overview of your health! | Read our full review below to see if this type of service might be right for you. | | | | | | | How did you feel about this newsletter? | | | Email wellnesswire@healthline.com with comments related to this newsletter or topics you'd like to see in future editions.
