These packs are usually much more affordable than buying fresh salmon individually. And they'll keep in the freezer for a long time. | Here are a few tips from me that you might want to consider: - Skip the walnuts if you want. Yes, they have many health benefits, but they're also fairly expensive. If you're really into the idea of them as a crunchy topping, go for it!
- Massage your kale. I typically use a combo of lemon juice and olive oil to break down the fibrous green. My preference is usually dinosaur or Tuscan kale.
- Nix the chili powder, especially if you have a low tolerance for heat! Olive oil, salt, and pepper are a solid backup.
| Quick note: Making changes to the original recipe could affect the meal's overall nutritional value, which may not line up with your diabetes management plan. Again, talk with your doctor if you're unsure! | | | | A simple steamer | | | | | Meyer Stainless Steel Steamer | I used to have a bamboo steamer, but I found that the wood deteriorated fairly quickly — not to mention it was a nuisance to clean. A steel option fits on most of my pots and Dutch ovens. Plus, you can steam veggies over boiling water you're already using to cook other ingredients, such as pasta or poached chicken. | | Every product we recommend has gone through either Healthline's or Optum Store's vetting processes.
