Hi Everyone
In case you missed last week's email, I had a lot of fun showing people how they can be committed like my dog (this is a fun one).
I have started sharing motivational quotes on my blogs some days. For my email this week, I will share the first two quotes from last week to see if they can energize you to make it through February. The end of winter has to be near, right? I now live in California after growing up in Ohio. Instead of getting snow and ice in Ohio, I now get rain in the winter. Lots of rain this winter, which is better than no rain in the drought years! Most people don't know that California receives most of its' water for the year from a few large Pacific Ocean storms.
Motivational quote #1:
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." -- Confucius
This is one of my favorite topics. We all make mistakes, but it's great to learn from those mistakes and rise again -- even stronger now from the wisdom we can learn from falling.
Motivational quote #2:
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. -- famous Chinese proverb
This is a great quote that helps you visualize the power of small steps. It would be amazing to walk 1,000 miles. But, even such a great journey has to start with one step!
Which quote do you like best? Are there ways you can use either of these motivators? Let me know on this blog.
Quick Update
My surgery recovery continues to go well! For anyone new, I had a brain seizure about 4 months ago caused by a large brain tumor that was successfully removed and thankfully it wasn't cancerous. In the past few weeks, my milestones have included:
- Starting to use my exercise bike again -- a great way to re-build my cardio base
- Getting my driver's license back (in California, you automatically lose your license for 3 months if you have a seizure) -- it has been great to finally be able to help my wife drive the kids around
- My first haircut in about 5 months -- this was mostly from not having my driver's license, but also just a bit because the last time there was a cutting instrument close to my head it was to literally cut a large hole through my skull. I will post some before/after photos on a blog this week.
Have a great week and I'l be back next week. I'm grateful for the chance to do my best to provide small sparks of motivation to so many people!
