| | Week of 07/12/2018 - Featured Blog Post The Tracking Trick that is Working for Me The food tracking trick that is proving to really help me? Pre-logging. When I start my day, I plan what I'm going to eat and I log it in advance of actually eating it. Then, when faced with choices, I know it either is planned for, or not planned for. I adjust my log as needed, but it is a great way for me to stick to the program. Tracking has always been a total pain in my rear. My greatest weight losses were on plans that gave me 80% of what I was going to eat and left the last 20% up to me, but with strict guidelines. No logging. No counting points. No planning. I tried the other uber-popular logging diet and found myself logging the same 5 things every day and getting into a super rut, eventually quitting the logging and then quitting the plan. Because of that, I was concerned that SparkPeople wouldn't really fit my lifestyle. So far, I believe I've been wrong. Sunday is family day at my parent's house with a ton of food. I knew what was going to be served before I went, so first thing in the morning, I logged everything I could eat while there. I was pretty generous with myself since I knew there would be a lot and I didn't want to be feel too left out. It worked like a charm! I ate what I had planned and I passed on anything that wasn't already logged. June 4 start date at 253.6. June 18 weigh in at 246.4! One step at a time.
