| | Week of 03/09/2017 - Featured Board Post I Braved the Weight Room I joined a small local gym that offers a indoor track, gymnasium, and a small weight room. I started this journey last January but have not hit the gym. At first I just need to lose some weight so I could move better but even after I lost 80 lbs I still did not go to the gym. I have a lot of anxiety, and going to a new place and working out with strangers seemed to be more than I could take. However, after I peeked into the weight room yesterday and saw that they offered mostly barbells and dumbbells, I came home, went on Pinterest and wrote down a plan. This morning I walked into the weight room with great anxiety and made it through the workout. I am calling it a success. I did skip a couple of the exercised on my list because I didn't feel comfortable doing them with so many people around, but I know that it was just my anxiety working overtime. The people were so nice. One very nice guy even offered me advice when I was doing an exercise incorrectly.
