| | Week of 02/09/2017 - Featured Blog Post Expectation Versus Appreciation I love making a plan, making a list, crossing things off lists. It's so gratifying. If I write something down the expectation is that it will get done. Now that's where I get into trouble. Expectation! What if I don't get it done? What if I can only do part of it? What if, what if, what if, what if...? Well then, if I didn't meet the expectation then I must have failed? Right? Time to quit, right? WRONG!! The thing about losing weight is that it's pretty measurable, you either did or didn't. And when you didn't that feels like a failure even if you stayed on track with your diet and fitness goals. That's the part I'm learning to pay more attention to; staying on track with my diet and fitness goals and APPRECIATE that I have done that, even if the number on my scale makes it look like I didn't. I no longer have any EXPECTATION about what the scale will say. I'll still look at it, but it's not going to dictate failure or success. I will APPRECIATE the work I put into my health and look back on that as my success. My only EXPECTATION now is to APPRECIATE what I'm doing as I work toward my goals, no matter how long it takes.
